Incentives

Durham County, the City of Durham, and the State of North Carolina offer a variety of incentives designed to help a company cover eligible project expense and achieve its ultimate potential that directly translates to increased profits.  Tax credits and refunds are available for targeted companies that create higher than average wage jobs, establish headquarters facilities or make major capital investments in designated industry sectors. 

It is important to note that with the local incentive programs the incentives are determined on a case by case basis by the governing bodies based upon their investment criteria and goals.  The State of North Carolina offers tax credits that targeted businesses earn through their investment and hiring performance.  In addition, the State does offer two incentive programs to businesses in targeted industries.
