  About Henry Kaestner:

Kaestner joined Morken as Co-Founder in 2001 when he merged Bandwidth International into Bandwidth.com and served as CEO until early 2008. In his position as Executive Chairman, Henry Kaestner works with partner David Morken on the firm's strategy, financing and marketing functions. Kaestner also oversees the partnership's not-for-profit activities.

Previously, Kaestner was the CEO of Bandwidth International, an international wholesale telecommunications broker based in London, England. He was also a founder of Chapel Hill Broadband, a US based consultant and broker that specializes in dark fiber and large wholesale transactions that was sold to Cantor Fitzgerald.

Kaestner was a Founder and former President and CEO of Chapel Hill Brokers, an energy broker which achieved more than $50 million in daily trade volume on more than 150 transactions, for clients including Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. Chapel Hill Brokers was sold to APB Energy (now ICAP Energy) in 1999.

Kaestner oversees the firm's BandwidthCares initiative, is a member of the Local Outreach Committee and the Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham, is on boards and involved in several Durham based charities and is actively involved in missions work in South Africa through his work for the African Enterprise Leadership Training Centre in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Chamber U is a new, innovative initiative of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce designed to address critical topics and to help prepare Chamber members to meet the ever-changing demands of the workplace.  These once-a-week (each Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.) educational opportunities provide members with valuable tools and information they can take back to their businesses and utilize to help them achieve the success they desire. The program provides individualized growth and development opportunities for entry level to executive leadership covering the entire gamut from "nuts & bolts" to "visionary thinking."
