Does your business have an emergency plan?
Do your employees know what to do to respond to a medical emergency, pandemic influenza outbreak, fire, or severe weather event?
What happens when your building is damaged?
How does your business continue its operations in an alternate location?
You’ll have the chance to answer these questions and re-examine your emergency operations framework during the November 11 Chamber U session.
This session will provide a brief overview of H1N1 (swine flu) and other pandemic influenza events throughout recent history. It will demonstrate the probable impact a pandemic would have on businesses and provide a framework in which to talk about preparedness planning.
This session will involve participants through discussion about various elements that could cause a business interruption and how to be ready if an interruption were to occur. Practical steps for preventative measures, appropriate response during an interruption of services, and recovery to normal business operations will be presented. The session will include a question and answer session and facilitated sharing of best practices.
The session will also include takeaway lessons for implementing pandemic planning and business continuity planning in your business. A discussion and update will be offered on the responsibilities of business owners/managers, public health, and healthcare providers with regard to H1N1.
The following questions will be answered:
